The location for the Northwest Arkansas Crisis Stabilization Unit will be 105 N Mill Ave Fayetteville, AR 72701.

“The CSU provides an alternative to jail when someone appears to be in a mental-health crisis,” states Governor Asa Hutchison. “Before today, law enforcement officers generally had only one option when dealing with a person who was a threat to others or to himself. But an arrest isn’t always the best option. Now, officers have a place to take someone where people are trained to recognize and treat behavioral-health issues.”

As County Judge, I am pleased we have a unit to serve the citizens across the region. We are partnering with many agencies and community leaders to include our drug courts, judges, medical community and with law enforcement officers across the region. Law Enforcement Officers in particular are undergoing crisis intervention training and will be the drivers for a successful stabilization unit. They will make the decision to divert someone from going to jail and bring them to the crisis stabilization unit. We are also partnering with Ozark Guidance who will be the medical service provider for the NWACSU. This is a needed service to not only our county but to the region. To serve those in severe mental crisis and get them the attention needed for healthier outcomes while diverting them from our crowed jails, is a tremendous benefit to the region...
