Court Records illustrate Washington County's legal history. Beginning with 1829, these records contain information on civil and criminal cases, as well as divorces, property disputes, and disputes involving the estates of deceased individuals. Original indices are found at the front of each book. The Archives has also compiled a master index to all court records and case files through 1973. Court Records also include Will Records, which begin in 1828, and Naturalization Records which were filed through the Circuit Court until 1934 . The Archives has the following records:
