With this growth the need for more hard surface roads has increased. The cost to widen the right -of-way and reconstruct an existing road is over $190,000.00 per mile. In some cases a road may be improved by using the existing right-of-way with very little cut and fill, but the cost still exceeds $90,000.00 per mile.

Above all the Road Department is committed to making all Washington County roads a safe and friendly driving experience for everyone.
