SHARPS DISPOSAL PROGRAM |
|||||
|
The new Sharps Container Disposal Program will provide residents of Washington County with FREE quart-size sharps disposal containers. Free containers can be picked up at local participating pharmacies, the Washington County Courthouse, and the Washington County Health Unit. Residents will then take their full containers to one of the Household Hazardous Waste Drop-off Facilities in the county. Facility locations are also listed on the containers. Each year millions of people self-administer billions of home injections. The majority of these are for diabetes, allergies, arthritis and other sorts of ailments. Many people are unaware of the safe needle disposal programs that are available to them. We hope this program will help bridge that gap.
