School Recycling

Many of the schools in Washington County are diverting the waste they generate through school recycling or composting programs.  The Environmental Affairs and Recycling Department provides technical support to set up a program and assist with research and grantwriting.  Our department also facilitates educational activities to maintain a strong waste reduction program.  These activities are correlated to state education frameworks and reinforce concepts of responsibility, respect, and community.
